Madolyn Smith(-Osborne) played Tracy Whitney who became a jewel thief
in this mini-series. At the start of the third episode she flies into
London in disguise as an old lady. Passing through passport control
she carefully positions herself in the queue behind another passenger
whose resemblense to Tracy will distract their attention. She then leaves
the airport, unmasking in the back seat of her chauffeur driven car.
The effect is well done, though the filming of the unmasking was unnecessarily
gimmicky: it looked good enough to have been filmed straight. It looks
as if the disguise was achieved with prosthetic makeup for the airport
scene but that an over-the-head mask was used for the unmasking seen
in the mirror of her makeup case.
