Regine was quite something: it took three actresses (Jule Carmen, Carol Rees and Dinah Cancer) plus two dummy regine heads to bring her to life. Julie Carmen was only seen in the intial stages. Carol Rees was in the Regine monster suit. This featured an amazing mouth design which allowe the depth of the actress’s own mouth to be used as part of the effect: the upper teeth fitted over the actress’s nose and upper lip with an upper palate that extended into her mouth while the lower jaw fitted against her lower lip and chin with a false tongue covering her own tiongue and teeth. Dinah Cancer (5’ 6" and 98lb) played the living flaming corpse: based on a full body cast, it was a three hour makeup which finished off with a spray of dilute K-Y Jelly to give a gloss effect. The makeup was by makeup FX Unlimited with a crew of 13 under Bart Mixon. |
